SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2025-9:
Amendment to Micro-E Model Requirements
It is necessary to amend the rule on electric motorcycles permitted in the Micro-E classes. Currently there are two Micro-E classes: Micro-E1 (7-8), with maximum Front Wheel at 12”, and Micro-E2 (4-6), with maximum Front Wheel at 10”. The Micro-E2 (4-6) class was limited to E2 and E3 model machines. Only E5 models were permitted in the Micro-E1 (7-8) class. However, it has come to our attention that the KTM and Husqvarna E2 and E3 models are no longer in production and are not available, and that many riders in the Micro-E2 (4-6) class are actually competing on E5 models.
The Micro-E classes are new in 2025, and it was not the spirit or intent to limit riders to models no longer in production. Accordingly, the Micro Jr. and Micro-E Rules are modified as follows:
d. 50 Jr: For 50 Jr. combustion classes (50 Jr.1 (6-7) and 50 Jr.2 (4-5), Max. Front Wheel is 10”; For all other Micro combustion classes, Max. Front Wheel is 12”. The 50 Jr. classes are limited to the following OEM models: KTM Mini Adventure, KTM SX Mini, KTM SX-E3, Husqvarna EE-3, GasGas MC-E3, Cobra CX3E, Cobra CX50P3, Cobra CX50 Jr., Yamaha PW50 and Yamaha TTR50E.
e. Micro-E: 1kWh Battery Energy electric motorcycle. Micro-E1 (7-8) Max. Front Wheel 12”; Micro-E2 (4-6) Max. Front Wheel 10”. The E2, E3 and E5 Micro-E models are permitted in all Micro-E classes. In addition, Micro-E models are eligible in the following Micro combustion classes in accordance with class age and wheel size requirements, as follows:
i. E2 & E3 models: Permitted in 50 Jr. (Front: 10”) and 50 Sr. (Front:12”)
ii. E5 models: Permitted in 50 Sr. (Front: 12”)
At the Talladega round, two riders were removed from the Mini-E2 (4-6) class as a result of riding an E5 model. This will be corrected as follows: The race results will not change, but the positions earned by these riders (1st and 2nd) will be restored. As a result, the Series points for the Talladega round will show two 1st place positions/points and two 2nd place positions/points.
Accordingly, the 2025 GNCC Supplemental Rules and Motorcycle Micro Classes are amended, consistent with this rule change.
